About Us

The Power of Creativity

Spark Creative Education is run by Paul (your tutor) and Rose (admin). We have been home educating our 4 children for nearly 10 years. As home educators, we understand that learning does not have to take place inside a classroom and that one size does not necessarily fit all when it comes to education.

Paul has been a qualified Secondary School Teacher, Head of Subject, Pastoral Leader and Creative Arts Faculty Leader for over 10 years and has over 20 years experience in the Music and Media industries. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Music, PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), is an examiner for the AQA Exam Board, an Approved Learning Partner for Tutors and Exams and is Enhanced DBS checked.

Paul’s passion is the creative arts, having taught music, music technology, film and media studies from Primary to A Level and Level 3 Vocational, but we know that creative subjects can be particularly tricky for home educating families to access. Spark Creative Education aims to create lessons that ignite children’s creativity in a hands-on and fun way.

We also understand that even within schools, children may not be able to access creative subjects and so we also offer support to students within schools and training and resources for teachers.

We are dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusivity and acceptance, where students feel valued for who they are and what they do. By promoting a positive mindset and emotional resilience, we equip students with the tools to navigate challenges, develop empathy, and cultivate a sense of purpose in everyday life.

Be creative, be happy, be you!

Our Partners

We are partnered with Tutors and Exams who are a private exam centre with 9 sites across the UK. By working in partnership with Tutors and Exams we are able to endorse coursework as part of our GCSE tuition.

Learners will be entitled to the 12.5% Partner fee discount on your exam when taking the subject through us. This will be supplied when you sign up to one of our GCSE courses.

Reviews and Testimonials

"Paul has been tutoring me for GCSE film studies ready for my exam.

I am dyslexic and have anxiety, in the past I have struggled with online lessons, but Paul makes me feel really comfortable and relaxed and makes the lessons fun and interesting, the hour flies by and I look forward to the next lesson.

He gives clear, detailed feedback on the work I do, which has really helped me progress in the subject."

"Paul, thank you so much for everything you have done for me not just with music studies, but in my overall confidence. Thank you for giving me lessons to look forward to and being an awesome tutor."

"Paul has been tutoring my daughter in GCSE film studies and we are really happy with the service he is providing. His friendly, personable, approachable attitude has really helped my daughter, who is shy and struggles with anxiety, to come out of her shell.

She feels at ease in the sessions and really looks forward to them. She finds them fun and informative. Moreover, thanks to Paul she feels ready to face her GCSE film studies exams in May.

As a parent I feel confident in knowing my daughter is in very experienced, capable hands. I would highly recommend Paul as a tutor."
